Helping Chronic Wounds Heal
The Parrish Wound Healing Center is a healing environment for chronic wound sufferers. From the minute you step inside, you'll realize that our Wound Healing Center is like no other. We offer the latest treatments and technology available today in a beautiful, soothing environment.
Once you're seated in one of our five examining rooms, a specially trained physician will examine your wound then devise a treatment plan just for you. There are several methods your doctor might choose, including the use of hyperbaric medicine. Hyperbaric medicine is an emerging way of treating chronic wounds that uses a hyperbaric chamber to“super-oxygenate” wounds. Our hyperbaric chamber, the Perry Sigma Plus, is the most advanced system in use today.
What is a chronic wound?
A chronic wound is usually a wound that does not start to heal within four weeks, or has not healed within eight weeks.
What is hyperbaric medicine?
Hyperbaric medicine for the treatment of wounds that takes place in a specially designed compartment called a hyperbaric chamber. The hyperbaric chamber helps deliver the prescribed amount of oxygen to the patient's body tissue, which in turn begins the healing process. Wounds heal faster when the patient breathes 100 percent oxygen at higher pressures than that of a normal environment.
The Parrish Wound Healing Center is located in the North Building of the PMC campus. For more information please email us or call 321-268-6795.
